The economics behind Ugly little butterflies

I always felt it a little hard to digest the claims made by great minds that all of us however insignificant may or rather will have a part to play in the way our lives unfold. An empowering feeling nevertheless. The profoundness of which struck me when I first heard of the 'Butterfly effect'.

The butterfly effect is the phenomenon whereby a minor change in circumstances can cause a large change in outcome. How a flapping of the wings of a butterfly in Amazon can cause change in weather patterns in Asia.

We often question 'How one isolated goodwill guesture can effect a change or even snowbowl into revolution'. I found it the hard way, all of us do. Every nonfunctinal aspect of the society traces its roots back to us. For a country that is deeply entrenched in the idea of patience and tolerance is now finding
the same quality manifesting itself as submissive acceptance of the current state of being.Being vociferousness is not the 'in-thing' thing anymore, even if it were to stand for what is rite. The mindless race for the 'White-color' has brought with its sterio-types that neither make scene ethically nor eonomically. We seem to be left with a growing list of cities that are full of directionless zombies, no wonder Bollywood(Indian film industry) too is showing interest in such movies lately !!!!!

We seem to have taken our sences so much for granted that ,we have forgotten to react to them. How else would you explain the case of an auto-wala(driver of a local commuting facility) not just being unreasonable with the rates ,but also justifying those insanely high rates, whats more with generous showering of tantrums that he's stacked up in plenty as they are fired on the hapless public who to begin with are caught unawrares and then helplessly take refuge in the security of their sojourn. The see-saw between the governig body and the public, priorities and ethics have to be balanced out to get it to steady state.

Lets talk numbers now . How does this butterfly flapping causing waves effect the bigger picture. The CPI(Consumer Price Index) which is a track of the increase in the rate of essentails against a set benchmark. The transport costs have a 7% weightage across India in the CPI.The CPI has gone up from 114.40 in 2010 to 127.5 in 2013, inflation
as a result has gone from being close to 7.5% to 10.3% now. What is to be noted is the WPI(Wholesale price index- prices at which essentils are bought at the wholesale market) 6.68% has grown at a slower pace than that of the CPI which means that the intermeiatory costs are more than real increase in Inflation.

Here's an attempt to identify the Root-cause of the same. I commute by a autorickshaw for a streach of 3 km a day back and forth. The auto rickshaw guy in the 3 km trip earns 15 Rupees * 6 = 90 Rupees pertrip. which is 30 rs/km. The mileage of the vehicle is 35 km/litr. diesel costs 50 rs/litr. A simple math tells me that
he spends 1.4 rs per km. Now that is a wooping 99 % gain. Considering that 60% is of it goes to the owner and a 20 % is the rental for the vehicle. He is taking back home a substantial chunk. Now what is more relevent here though is that some percentage of that 90 odd % increase is going to make its way into the retail prices.

There is every reason to believe that the 30% gap between the WPI and the CPI would be addresed partly by this opportunistic pricing by the autorickshaw fellows. This is only the tip of the iceberg, the story of one butterfly . There is no guessing in as to how many diferent ways this evil is currenly haunting us.Consiering that the Rupee is valued based the purchasing power of you and I and Inflation being the key indicatior or factor to determine the monitory policy of a nation. You and I can make a contribution in mitigating at least to some extent the damages.

STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RITE IN WHAT EVERY WAY YOU POSSIBILY CAN. DO NOT EVER UNDERESTUMATE THE POWER OF ONE SOLITARY BUTTERFLY.

The meandering journey of spirit to health

it all starts at the tail of the spine
the tiny little thing there feels blessed and enshrined

the gush of energy takes it by surprise
as the fellow organs are in reprise

but not for too long does gloom rule the roost
as the prana cuts through it providing a much needed boost

triumphant and vibrant it makes it way up the ladder
all negativity can do not much ‚but grow ever-so sadder

as it played through the whirlpool of the naval
‚the little heart bent down to reach out in craving
by which time it was amply clear, i was in for spiritual travel

the arteries and the vein’s lost no time in picking up pace
as the breath settled into a rhythm , that of shear grace

as every nerve felt respite
with a ‘wow’ i took breath in spite

the ‘reeeeeee’ felt never so resounding
as stress in me took a much deserved pounding

the mint cool nasal made way
even as i thought to myself , yyyyyyuppeeeeeeeeee!!!!! i am ‘making hay’

up she went in a graceful U turn ..boy wasn’t that a cracker
one that could humble even the best , yes the schumacher

by which time i had lost control of my senses for good
in pursuit of a more meaningful livelihood

the head opened up and made way
as the divine around me steamed its way

a thunder it was , it took my breath away
the body at ones washed all its sins away

I’ve heard. I’ve read but never felt it this way
almighty !!!! i am blessed you pulled me out of harms-way

You might want to guess what this process is about.

let go,fall with the universe

I wake up and see through the window over the medows between the leaves, purch my eyes on to the crimson light ,as the sun rests its chin on the tree clad cushion of the distant mountain valley. With every passing minute as i saw it rise ,i started de-focusing from my earthly existance and on to the skies. The clouds and the day light stars moving indepenently of each other , suspended in thin air and so was I ,or was I !!!!?

I soon realised that there was something harmonious about all this, what was it ???? The fact that there was no use of force. They were all acceptive of their respective states of being , non complaining, blissfull and freely falling.None of them seem to revolt on why they are made to be here or made to be part of the creation  there is silence and total acceptance. I take my attention on to my self and find it to be no different .There is no referece point in space that you can relate this fall to , there is no begining and end to this phenomena , its eternal. The galaxies ,the stars ,the entire mass of the universe how ever big they may be , deligently follow the un-written law.

The other day , i was in a confrontative situation with my dad .The merits of the argument apart , I found myself pushing hard to drive home a point, a point that I beleived was rite, rite it could have been for all i know, but I seemed to have over done it a tad. I realized that I probably came in the way of nature taking its own course.By forcing the issue, i had agitated the person opposite and as a result atleast temperoryly driven him away from him reflecting upon my perspective of things.I was in that 'post-argument truth downing' state , where you so often feel guilty of having jumped the gun in a sence. The postmortom revealed that I was yet again a victim of the 'I know this better' syndrome.

So often we fail to realize the shear complexity of the system called nature,It has its own fool proof way of dealing with imperfection, little do we realize that what we are messing around with or so often critisize is the creative energy in itself. Going back to the argument , had I not forced my point ,for all you know ,this would have ended a lot better. In the restrictive world that we live and the sckwed thoughts that we have we loose sight of the higher. We only know so much of the universe. The script for all you know is so brilliantly written by the creator , the magnitude of which is unfathomable and we try to gauge it with our worldly reasoning. And there is the mind that so often gets it calculations awfully wrong along with the knoledge of the self.. or the lack of it.

This being the case , we would much rather let things happen ,observe them and be cogniZant of the bigger force that is in action that knows of the larger longer term good more than us, sometimes refered to as GOD.Imagine ... how does a wound get healed, not becuae of the antibiotics, not because of the truck loads of pain killer that you gulp. Its the healing action of the billions of cells ,the life force in you ,the will to get well. So,then what do we do when we try to influence it .We are dictating nature on what it has to do aren't we. Pain is a mechanism to send alarm signals to us for attention,at times it is a sign of the process of healing which is underway. Why would you want to supress it.Why would you take synthetic medicines that are prepared based on our restricted knoledge of ourselves to influence some thing bigger, better as the supreme power. Lets move to a healing mechanism that is closer to natures way of handling it.When I say that , it takes time, give it time and you'll see what it can do to you.

A simple experiment will help you realise this.Even as you read this article , try feel the stress levels in your body. Let all the part of your body loose. To the extent that no part of the body is standing up stiff.Let the metabolic activity take over, feel the blood flow thru every part of your body.Observe the heart
beat as though that was the sole purpose of your life. Switch of the banter in the mind ...in short SHUT SHOP for a while.I would be surpried if
you did not enjoy the company of yourself.

a few 'More than a compelling reasons' to avoid non-veg

1) Our human digestive system is not designed to digest the complex nonveg food.Think of it this way .... what i you are asked to warm up or a game of football and do 2 rounds of the groud and feel good to go. But then misinterpreting that more is better and going the extra-mile drain's you more than anything. In the process you end up being underprepared for the game called life, you feel exhausted and worne-out.

2) Hello my fellow global warmers .....you ask how .....heres how ...The amount of natural resources that are consumed in feeding what is to be the potential lunch or dinner contributes to 27% of the total global warming in te planet. To put it in perspective , all the vehicular pollution in theh world put together comes to only 20% of the pollutants. Cheif contributers, the amount of water, grains, fodder(plant life in one orm or the other) that goes into feeding it is about 1000 times the amount of water, plant(natural resources) required to sustain the highest order of health.

A fully grown buffelo in its life time consumes enough water to float a Naval destroyer !!!!!! now tell me

3) What do we all strive for , a life ful of peace without any agitation. Then why would you want to spend so much and end up getting all the negative energy. Here's how, thr animal has its own set of emotion the negativity of thought which is in pretty high proportion in all animals is what translates onto muscles and tissues. Not when the hunter goes for the kill all the negative energy during the chase is now embeded into the animals muscles. An there you are ... consumimg all the negativity freshly backed out of the owen. This makes a person 'Rajasik' and 'Thamasic' (in the highest scripture)where your body energy levels are not in harmoney with the nture around you and that is what causes anger aggression , leading to depression.

4) It eats into your pocket. Wondering How ?????!, Not on the amount of money that you spend to buy one. Infact since the majority prefers non-veg, the govt have to subsidice it. A MC Donalds burger actually costs 40 $but is sold for 4$ who pays the rest ????? .... the tax payer.

Ok and what i get to hear if that non-veg is the best form of protien , so where does that come from ... go explore nature there is enough out there ... enough to give you that protein if not more and a sustainable one at that ... and keep you more alert and aware

Exiting the mind game

If I were to say that all that you see around you and that you have been experiencing all this while that you have been interacting with the environment around you is an illusion, not every thing that you see andhave felt and have come to believe as being a 'No-brainer' conclusion is as trivally concludable as we have made it to be. Here's how startling this can get. What if i were to tell you that the blue skies that you are so used to seeing above you is not necessecrily blue or for those lovers of nature .. your roses are guilty ofnot being in as radient a color as you thought they were ...ahh and for people there who crave for the bullion... what you have and are paying so much for actually not glitter.

Having virtually got the world to its feet and having raised some eyebrows .. let me get to the point. You might wonder then of as to what is it that plugs the gaps by filling the colours into the complicated 3D WireFrame that this world is. Its that wildly friend of ours who quiet often steps into or should i add does so unsolicitadly into the actions that we happen to take and make then feel natural to us .. when on the controry it brilliantly coaleses information from different sources to generate the pattern we endup seeing. Its the mind that i am talking about.well then if you thought that WYSIWYG(What you see is what you get), this should make you think again. You actually are viewing the picture spanning a life time that is projected on the background of our retina ,not before it was processed possibily to take away what was real.

For all you know, we have been programmed too beleive that grass is green and the roses are red by our ansistorsThis should find support in the fact that all that we see around has evolved from nowhere during the big bang.It was all dust an fire at that point in time ,how that can transform into ocean that spans 2/3rds of earth is something that is worth pondering .The fire that we protect ourselves from is what constitutes you.Think this....If only our ansistors had reacted differently to coming in contact with fire , depending what they did , we could well have been embracing fire , instances of which have been in our scriptuers ,Sita emerging out of fire ,fire there acting as a cleanser.Amazing how perception is what its all about, the slightest of changes to which can turn yourworld upside down and make you feel like a fool.

Our preconceived notion of a society and all those cleashes that we want to so religiously cling on to is doing nogood to us. We seem to have chained our own thinking process in the fear of facing the unknown.Little are we realizingthat the finite understanding that we have of our strenghts is tying us down into misery. This whole notion of bindinghumans into rules and do and donts are putting bounds on our understanding.Cant agree more with why this is being called a kal-yug and the attributes that have been associated , what good can one expect of a sitaution where peoplefind themselves in a gam-packed furnace left to grapple with the fellow humans in the fight for a living, unaware ofthe unbound possibilies that lie outside.

The 'populous' debate

Having spent close to 1 1/2 decades basking in glory of the india shining campaign and now being
on the verge of taking this for granted , its time that we revisit what made us feel so and the
viability of it at that , think back and ull realize that at the heart of it all was this feeling
of having empowered ourselves into a buoyant feeling and quiet literally at that , the shear no of people
ready to weigh the global community down with their intellect , galloping opportunities onsite with the
voracious appetite that made the co-denizens of Hollywood run for cover, some thing that has become a trademark
now. To the extent that the usually articulate Americans(some might differ with me at that) are having
to comprehend this explosion of people with confused frown , well rather say that its been 2 decade long period
where the have constantly reframe an opinion about us , hnnn and we are not the ones to get that easily
deciphered are we...!!

And what is at the crux of this is the 'demographic dividend' the term under which the 'Indian Phenomenon' is
increasingly taking refuge under. Well most people who are accustom to (or should is say the victim of) the
(morning coffee + newspaper) combination will know what that terms stands for. The process of pumping people is
well on from the rural reservoir that is increasingly being accredited for having emphatically pulled
of the once seemingly herculean task of bridging the overseas divide gracefully ..kudos ...!!!.But one has to constantly
pinch himselves and take reality check , the question to be asked is if all this is helping us transform our
quality of life better.

The answer is shouting loud at us , starting from the fixable issue of chaotic roads, leaking drains, dust coated buildings
,littered cities to what is intangible impatient people, shortcut seakers, 'Sultans of Ego'(ill need another article to
delve in to that)unproductive one at that, most importantly the incomplete bigger picture of the world around,
where 'I','Me','Myself' is what ever action is intended to pamper , where all sane ideas have to take a back seat simply
because they think its outdated. If 'development' is what we want to name this and seek to draw parallels with the american
dream run , then i dont think the americans will be too proud of some thing like this.

We have taken a short sited approach to development. Cannot help but agree with the point that a renound Historian
Ramachandra Guha made , an argument in the lines of 'Why India will not and should not become a super power' , a truely
refreshing point of view of a passionate speaker whome I only key as a Cricket Historian until i came across this. A 'must
listen' 1 hr vedio recording that takes us through 10 reasons on why he believes so. This vedio sums it up all, rite from
his rendering to the Q&A session that had an Indian deferring with it and in his tone was not acceptive of the point of
view that saw his glorious country being cursed of non-progressiveness. Little did he see the bigger point that was being
made.

Some times we humans feel so stifled by the limitations that we have created for ourselves in not having been able to
express your point of view precisely ,if this was the case with someone who is as articulate as Guha .. well makes me
wonder of our languages are as incomplete a our thoughts are ...

holistics

'socital wellbeing' - A state of being of a group of people to whome conformity to a set of rules saposadly 'etched' to
completion by what i call 'self-proclaimed era-defining' thoughts , which otherwise should qualify as being nothing more than
'progressive cleshe' ,

Add the indian aspect to it and 'the samosa of life' gets a spicy flavour to it , what with its
emotions(complicated and layered once at that),and the big fat alloo of uncertainity stuffed at the very core of it.what that
throws up is the dangerous recipee of indulgence.Propelled by the urge to grab a hefty pie of which , people end up compromising
on the absolute.

A trip abroad on wrk, inflated bank balances and as a result of it , enough money for remitences back home .. sounds like the india story !!!
heres more ...uninformed,purely fantacy driven , voracious apetite to the $-factor , non-cognizince of whats expected ,top it with the habit of
fretting on the elusive.

How many times have we disliked the experience of being reminded of the fact that the correctness, quality, completeness are the desired
vertiues that result out of time-taking,persevering effort.Yet i truley commend the never dying spirit with which humans dare to dream to take
the shorter path , ofcourse only to be defied by time.Yaaa I know .. only if 20 years of youthful lifetime was time enough for us to complete
all our obligations of wanting to amass enough money, to have bungi-jumped in newziland, romanced in france, felt the cold realites of antartica,
,burnt our hands in the stock market ,taken a shot at a casino in Vegas, wondered at the misery engulfing a millionaire ...before finally
looking within and reconsiling ourselves of our worth. All this with the added complexity of having to compete with a billion of them ... I get it.
We surrender ourselves to the mercy of our resources(our sences) and fail to recoupe when its time,But the situation is not so rosy either.Rather
look at it this way .... a billion of them thinking alike , which rule of probability does that satisfy.Thats testimony to how restrictive we have been thinking
The fact that there is no sanity in thought and the insecure lives that most of us lead , there is every reason to believe that our steriotypes dont work.Quite
intreguing to see that in this 'era of accomlishments' we seem to have parellely distenced ourselves from our roots.I see Intelectuals suffer,
at the hands of some very ordinary ideas , great thinkers compromising on values. The bottom line being that its the completeness in the understanding that
counts , irresective of what we do. I dont think a man who has a holistic view on all factors influencing life will ever be a source of chaos to the society,
Where there is noise here are imbalances, infact disproportionate numbers of any kind is also cause or alaram, and when we thin of BIG numbers we think of
population and ofcourse we think of .....!! he he .But the bueaty of this universe being that there is nothing absolute which includes the existance of the Universe
in itself... so then right or wrong is only relative and temperory... as temperory as ourselves. That explains why every suggesssion can have a counter argument
to it and it can be won on very loose grounds as well. But if some practises can give us a temperory sense completeness its well worth a try.
